Organic systems adapt better to local optimization

Instead of requiring a centralized brain to command a root to grow left, the root simply follows the path of highest moisture and least physical resistance. This decentralized survival mechanism avoids the pitfalls where Local optimization often leads to global sub-optimization.¹
